Making Crystals

Aanother experiment being done by the students is making crystals using Epsom salts and dye in the water. There are two ways of doing this being experimented with. Photos from the start and on Sunday have been uploaded to show results so far.

Both of the experiments being done are exposing the students to scientific ideas and vocabulary. The boiling point of water and the freezing point have been discussed.

I have talked to them about making crystals out of sugar or salt at home. we have also discussed the use of evaporation to collect the salt we eat. This was a revelation!
